Entries must be checked with classification committee and receive an entry and exhibition number which is to be filled out completely by exhibitor before entries are placed. Entries will be accepted on Thursday, September 8 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 a.m. Open judging will be at 2:00 p.m. Entries must be removed between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12.

Exhibitors must furnish their own bottles. Bottle must be suitable size of exhibit. Classes will be sub-divided, if warranted.

QUALIFYING EXHIBITOR OR PARTICIPANT MUST BE A FREDERICKTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT RESIDENT WHO PHYSICALLY LIVES WITHIN THE DISTRICT, OR A MEMBER OF A FREDERICKTOWN GARDEN CLUB.

Reasonable care will be taken of exhibits, but the committee will not be responsible for damage or loss.

 

Horticulture Specimens

All entries in the Horticulture division must have been grown by the exhibitor and, if possible, be labeled as to its kind and variety. No professional or commercial growers. No spray, polish or wax on the leaves.

Containers must be clear glass for Horticulture division. You must supply your own container. Only one entry for each variety, in each class, may be made by an exhibitor. Any entry not conforming to the schedule will be disqualified and placed on exhibition only. The committee does reserve the right to combine, divide or eliminate classes to insure a uniform show.

Each class will be awarded :
1st–$3.00, 2nd–$2.00, 3rd–$1.00

 

Class 1. Hybrid Tea – one bloom, disbudded

Class 2. Peace – one bloom, disbudded

Class 3. Floribunda – one spray, do not disbud

Class 4. Full Blown Blossom – one bloom, disbudded

Class 5. Any other

Class 6. a. Miniature – single stem, b. Miniature – spray

Class 7. Cushion (garden) – one spray

To be disbudded, stem in proportion to bloom, do not remove foliage.

Class 8. XLarge Decorative 8″ and over, one bloom

Class 9. Large 6″ to 8″, one bloom

Class 10. Medium, any variety, 4″ to 6″, one bloom

Class 11. Small, any variety, 2″ to 4″, one bloom

To be disbudded, stem in proportion to bloom, do not remove foliage.

Class 12. Large Flowered, 4″ and over

Class 13. Medium Flowered 3″ to 4″

Class 14. Small Flowered 2″ and under

Class 15. Large Flowered, 4″ and over, one bloom, disbudded

Class 16. Medium Flowered 2″ to 4″, one bloom, disbudded

Class 17. Small Flowered 2″ and under, one spray

Class 18. Red

Class 19. Blue

Class 20. Other colors

Class 21. Variegated Leaves

Class 22. Green Leaves

Class 23. Other Leaf colors

Class 24. Sun Flower, not to exceed 8″ in diameter, disbudded

Class 25. Sedum, one stem

Class 26. Coleus, one stem, not to exceed 8″

Class 27. Grasses, any variety, not to exceed 36″

Class 28. Any other annual, round form

Class 29. Any other annual, spike form

Class 30. Any other annual, spray form

Class 31. Any other perennial, round form

Class 32. Any other perennial, spike form

Class 31. Any other perennial, spray form

 

 

Artistic Design

Flowers in Artistic classes need not be grown by exhibitor but must be arranged by the exhibitor. Classes open to the amateur designer only.

No artificial material. Painted material permitted but no painted fresh material. Dried material may be incorporated with fresh plant material. List plant material used in artistic classes on a 3 x 5 card.

1st — $3.00 and Ribbon • 2nd — $2.00 and Ribbon
3rd — $1.00 and Ribbon
Best of Show for arrangement — $7.50 and Rosette

A design using treasured wood. Wood may be used in the design, as the container or both.
